After an injury, I realized it was the perfect moment to rethink my career path. I'm passionate about dogs and have always had them. I’ve always shared my life with them—caring for them, understanding them, and even helping my girlfriend groom her own pups. Stepping into grooming felt natural, and I knew I had the heart and the hands for it.

To build a strong foundation, I trained under an expert I had previously worked with and received additional support from WorkBC. I was also incredibly fortunate to learn from generous grooming professionals in the community, including Heidi, Trudy, Karen, and Janine. Their guidance and encouragement helped shape the groomer I am today.

All that hard work paid off when I entered a nationwide Canadian Grooming Association competition and earned second place in the Amateur class, standing out among more than 300 entries. That moment confirmed I was exactly where I was meant to be.

I’m also deeply grateful for the grooming community—an incredibly welcoming, supportive group of people who made me feel right at home from the very beginning.
